In July 2004, the Egyptian Lactation Consultant's Association (ELCA) was announced as an official body embracing the vision and work of the Egyptian IBCLCs (International Board Certified Lactation Consultants) in the field of maternal and child health.
Today, 19 years have passed,
Full of achievement and still with growing passion, enlightened by our vision, to secure optimal neonatal and young children’s nurture which aims at providing optimal growth and development, along with supporting indispensable maternal health practices together, are elements that would prime and provide sustenance for a healthier growing individual.

As of our annual tradition for the fifth consecutive year, ELCA celebrates and collaborates with various organizations and institutions to support, sponsor and actively participate in the events of the World Breastfeeding Week in Egypt 2023.
This year, the WBW’s main theme is focusing on breastfeeding and employment under the title:
