World Breastfeeding Week 2025 celebration Covering All Egypt
The Egyptian Lactation Consultants Association (ELCA) proudly collaborates with the Egyptian foundation child health and nutrition‘s initiative in celebrating World Breastfeeding Week (WBW).
ELCA invites healthcare workers interested in breastfeeding to attend the events of the World Breastfeeding Week in Egypt 2025, where the participation of the members of ELCA is renewed as a continuum to the great success achieved by the events of the WBW campaign. This annual event was launched by the Egyptian foundation child health and nutrition, under the leadership of Dr. Gihan Fouad, Former Dean of the National Nutrition Institute and ELCA Board member. The Event annually covers various healthcare and educational facilities all over Egypt addressing both healthcare workers and community members with informative talks and practical support systems to ensure the WBW theme covers all

This year’s theme resonates deeply with ELCA’s core vision and long-standing mission. For over two decades, since our first celebration in 2004, we have tirelessly worked to build a robust network of trained professionals and supportive communities in Egypt. The renewed and focused recommendations accompanying this year’s theme give us clear guidelines to all healthcare workers. It is a call to action to move beyond awareness and to actively create lasting, sustainable systems that support mothers throughout their breastfeeding journeys. This includes strengthening healthcare facilities, empowering lactation consultants, and fostering a culture of support within families and communities.
ELCA collaborates with various organizations & institutions to support, sponsor & actively participate in the events.
